Kyrith and Sol split from the army to hunt daemons-uncovering the strange reason so many are plaguing the empire, all the while navigating the unmistakable bond that has grown between them. Ezran and Arra find themselves facing family on each side of the battlefield. Ezran's own blood brings him nothing but guilt. Meanwhile, Arra continues to betray everything she has ever known, even when confronted with the ghosts of her past.

Under the rule of a new King, the North finds itself attempting to do the impossible-tread the precarious route of maintaining peace while also gaining justice for their dead.

Long live the King.
